Magnus Monitors is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in our business, employment practices, and supply chain relationships.
Magnus Monitors Ltd. has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, child labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to preventing these abuses in any part of our business and to taking reasonable steps to reduce the risk of them occurring in our supply chains.
This policy sets out the standards we expect from everyone who works for us or with us, including employees, directors, contractors, consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, logistics providers, installers, and other business partners.
In Ireland, modern slavery and human trafficking are addressed through the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Act 2008, as amended, and related Irish and EU law. Article 5 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union prohibits slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and trafficking in human beings.
Magnus Monitors will comply with applicable Irish employment, equality, health and safety, data protection, company, and criminal law obligations. We also expect our suppliers and business partners to comply with applicable labour, human rights, and anti-trafficking laws in the countries where they operate.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes situations where a person is exploited for another person's benefit and cannot freely refuse or leave because of threats, coercion, deception, abuse of power, debt bondage, withholding of identity documents, or other forms of control.
For the purposes of this policy, modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, child exploitation, forced criminality, forced begging, domestic servitude, sexual exploitation, and any other exploitation connected with trafficking or coercive labour practices.
Magnus Monitors designs and supplies tank monitoring hardware, software, connectivity, and related services. Our supply chain may include electronics manufacturing, component sourcing, packaging, warehousing, transport, software services, professional services, and installation or support partners.
We recognise that electronics, manufacturing, logistics, and outsourced service supply chains can involve human rights risks if they are not managed carefully. We aim to work with suppliers and partners that share our commitment to ethical conduct and transparent labour practices.
Magnus Monitors will:
We expect suppliers and business partners to operate responsibly and to maintain suitable controls against modern slavery and human trafficking. Depending on the nature and risk profile of the relationship, we may ask suppliers to:
We may decline to start, suspend, or end a supplier relationship where a supplier refuses reasonable due diligence, fails to address serious concerns, or is found to be involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.
Modern slavery and trafficking can be difficult to identify. Warning signs may include workers who appear frightened, withdrawn, controlled by someone else, unable to travel freely, unable to keep their own identity documents, unclear about where they live or work, living in overcrowded or unsuitable accommodation, working excessive hours, being collected or dropped off at unusual times, or being reluctant to seek help.
Any one sign may not prove exploitation, but concerns should be raised promptly where something appears inconsistent with free, safe, and lawful working arrangements.
Employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders should report any concern or suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking connected with Magnus Monitors, our suppliers, or our business partners as soon as possible. Reports may be made to a manager, director, or through the contact channels published on our website.
If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services by calling 999 or 112. In Ireland, suspected human trafficking can also be reported through the Blue Blindfold campaign by calling 1800 666 111, 999 or 112, or by emailing blueblindfold@garda.ie.
Magnus Monitors encourages openness and will support anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith, even if the concern later turns out to be mistaken. We will not tolerate retaliation, threats, dismissal, disciplinary action, victimisation, or other detrimental treatment because a person has raised a modern slavery or human trafficking concern in good faith.
Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and shared only with those who need to know in order to assess and respond to the matter. Where appropriate, Magnus Monitors may gather further information, require supplier explanations or corrective action, suspend work, terminate a relationship, or report concerns to the relevant authorities.
We will prioritise the safety, privacy, and welfare of potential victims and will avoid actions that could increase risk to them or compromise an official investigation.
Relevant employees and managers will be made aware of this policy and of their responsibility to identify, prevent, and report potential modern slavery risks. Additional guidance may be provided to employees involved in procurement, supplier management, logistics, operations, recruitment, or contractor oversight.
Any employee who breaches this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal where appropriate. Any contractor, supplier, or business partner that breaches this policy may have its contract or relationship with Magnus Monitors suspended or terminated.
The directors of Magnus Monitors have overall responsibility for this policy. Managers are responsible for applying it within their areas of work, and everyone working for or with Magnus Monitors is expected to support its aims.
This policy will be reviewed at least annually and may be updated sooner where there are changes to our business, supply chain, risk profile, or applicable law.
